Late Summer Gala

It’s got to be worth a visit – or even two!

A good time was had at Mabel’s Vintage Fair at Chasewater Railway this Sunday!

A good time was had at Mabel’s Vintage Fair at Chasewater Railway Sunday 24th July!

This must have been one of the busiest ever events at Chasewater Railway, it just kept building and building till mid-afternoon!

There was a good number of 1940-type stalls and many visitors had dressed the part. I only saw the event at Brownhills West, but I’ve seen some photos of Chasewater Heaths which show plenty of activity there too.

The two acts which I saw were ‘Jazz Jive and Swing’ from Birmingham and ‘The Craic’, an Irish music band from the Beacon Community Church.  Sorry folks, I had to spoil it by singing along (but the crowd did come back when I shut up!!).DSCF5134

More photos of the day.

And a mention for the loco crew who kept very well to the tight hourly service.
