View SE, towards Birmingham and the South: ex-GW London etc. – Birmingham – Chester etc. main line. Main line services here ended in 3/67 and the station was closed on 6/3/72. Here in 1958 the relatively short-lived ‘Inter-City’, 09.00 from Paddington, has arrived with ex-GW Collett 4-6-0 No. 5032 ‘Usk Castle’ (built 5/34, withdrawn 9/62).
